ABOUT:

Learn how to use the 'reliability' and 'fluctuating conditions' rules to get the correct award of PIP.

The disability test for PIP must consider whether you can do the activity 'reliably' and on more than 50% of days. However, many PIP claims fail due to a lack of awareness of these rules among claimants, advisers and the DWP!

This module explains these very important rules and how to use them in your PIP2 form, at assessment and when challenging decisions.

THIS MODULE WILL HELP YOU:

  • Identify the rules on fluctuating conditions and reliability in PIP

  • Decide how many points should be awarded when your client's condition fluctuates

  • Explain the four main criteria of the reliability rules and how to apply them

  • Use these rules together to increase your chances of getting the correct PIP award

  • Use these rules to challenge some of the DWP’s most common reasons for refusing PIP claims
