ABOUT:

Aids and appliances are a crucial in PIP. Learn what counts as an aid or appliance, how they affect the award, and how to challenge decisions.

If your client needs to use an aid or appliance then they might be awarded points, helping them to qualify for PIP. However, they might lose points if they need help from a person, but the DWP decide they can use an aid or appliance instead.
